MODESTO, Calif. (June 12, 2016) -- Andrew Bonner (Ripon, Calif.) captured the Modesto City Sunday with with a three-shot win over former champion Peter Canevari.
Bonner's opening 7-under 65 gave him a five-shot cushion over Canevari heading into today's final round. Canevari played well, firing a final-round 69 but Bonner didn't budge. Certainty inspired by his teammates at the University of Oregon, Bonner, a rising redshirt junior, closed with a 71 to take the title.
Marc Peterson and John Morshead tied for 3rd at 143 while Tommy Krimmel and Jeff Thomas tied for 5th.
