CAMDEN, SC (March 11, 2018) - After the cancellation of the final round of the Palmetto Cup matches due to weather, the Amateurs of the South Carolina Golf Association have retained the Palmetto Cup with a 15-6 victory over the SC PGA professionals at Camden Country Club.
On Sunday, the two man teams from each association competed in a Four Ball match play competition. Three points were available in each match – one point for winning the front nine, one point for winning the back nine and one point for winning the overall match.
Overall, the SCGA has 20 wins, the SCPGA has 15 wins, and there has been one tie in past Palmetto Cup Matches. One match was cancelled due to weather in 1997.
