ALAMEDA, CA (April 30, 2017) - Jeff Hoffman took command of the Alameda Commuters Senior on Saturday and then he sealed the deal on Sunday. Following a day one 3-under 69 at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex's Earl Fry Course Hoffman posted a second round even-par 72 to stay at 3-under and win by five shots.
Hoffman, playing in the senior division for the first time, picked up the win after coming off a season where he earned points in two AmateurGolf.com events, tying for fourth at the Roseville City Amateur and 11th at the Northern California Valley Amateur.
Jim Knoll was second at 1-over, in a tie for third it was Charles Richesin and James Camaione at 3-over while Jeff Britton, Frank Pieper and Terry Foreman shared fifth at 5-over.

After the first round of the Alameda Senior Commuters Jeff Hoffman is pacing the field. Playing at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex's Earl Fry Course Hoffman opened with a 3-under 69 and he will take a two-stroke lead into Sunday's final round
Hoffman started quickly on Saturday with birdie on No. 1 and it was the first of his seven birdies against four bogeys. Four of Hoffman's birdies came on the front side.
James Camaione is the only other player under-par and he is in second place at 1-under, Richard Rowley and Jim Knoll are third at 1-over while in fifth sits Terry Foreman at 2-under.
