Digging a little deeper, the Dogwood Invitational gave some more details.
Winners will receive:
- Two PGA Tour of Australasia Tournament Invites (excludes Australian Open & Australian PGA
- Complimentary airfare for two and a stipend to compete in Australia.
This opportunity could provide the champion with an avenue to earn status on the PGA Tour of Australia.
He could use the Future Tour Affiliation (FTA), which is when an amateur can pay an affiliation fee and earn points equivalent to their placing in the tournament. Should he earn enough to be top 50 on the Order Of Merit then he would win one of 3 cards on offer.
If the winner chooses to turn pro, he could use the Temporary Tournament Membership option. This is for professionals who pay an affiliation fee (same as FTA) and then can earn points to be on the current Order Of Merit.
Finally, the leading five players up to the 10th position of The Dogwood Invitational 2023 will be exempt through to the 2024 PGA Tour Australasia Q School Final Stage.
