No. 7 Florida wins by 18 shots at Mark Bostick GC as Paula Francisco sets a program record with a 10-under 200
The No. 7 Florida women’s golf team delivered a dominant performance at the Gators Invitational, posting 20-under 820 (271-275-274) to win by 18 shots at Mark Bostick Golf Course. No. 40 Virginia finished runner-up at 2-under 838 (275-284-279).
Florida led from start to finish, setting a program-record 54-hole score and surpassing the previous mark by 15 shots. The Gators also rewrote the tournament record book in the opening round, firing a 9-under 271, the lowest round in event history.
Junior Paula Francisco headlined the victory, capturing her first collegiate individual title with a 10-under 200, breaking a 10-year program record for lowest 54-hole score. Francisco posted rounds of 68-65-67, with her second-round 65 tying the second-lowest round in program history. She went on to win the tournament by five shots, marking a breakthrough moment after previously recording two runner-up finishes in her college career.
Florida placed all five players in the starting lineup inside the top 12, highlighting the team’s depth.
Sophomore Siuue Wu finished T-2 at 5-under 205 (65-69-71), matching a career-best tournament score. Her opening-round 65 tied the second-lowest round in program history, a mark Francisco also matched later in the tournament.
Graduate student Megan Propeck finished T-7 at 2-under 208 (71-70-67) after closing with a strong final-round 67. Freshman Katelyn Huber finished T-9 at 1-over 211 (67-71-73), while senior Addison Klonowski placed 12th at 2-over 212 (71-72-69).
Competing as an individual, sophomore Elaine Widjaja recorded a career-best finish, placing 5th at 3-under 207 (69-67-71).
Statistically, Florida led the field in par-4 scoring (3.95 average) and par-5 scoring (4.89 average) while recording the most birdies in the tournament with 52.
