AGA Women's Amateur: Lauren Greenlief defends, and wins for the third time

Greenlief fired a final round 69 to win three over Kelli Pry of Tampa, while Alabama's Patty Ehrhart won the senior title

After a wash out on day two, the final round of the AGA Women’s Amateur Championship was played at Tuscaloosa, Alabama's Northriver Yacht Club in nearly perfect conditions.

The Championship division was tightly bunched at the beginning of the day, but two-time champion Laura Greenlief, of Ashburn, Virginia, separated herself from the field with a final round 2-under-par 69 to clinch the victory by three shots over first-round leader Kelli Pry, of Tampa, Florida.

Megan Stassi, Krissy Carman, and Megan Buck finished three shots back of Pry in a tie for third. Stassi, the 2021 tournament champion tied Greenlief with the low round of the day at 69.

Patty Ehrhart
In the Senior division, Patty Ehrhart of Brimingham, Alabama followed her opening round 1-under 70 with a 2-over 73 to secure the win over a powerful, decorated senior field. Ehrhart is no stranger to the podium, having captured low amateur honors just last year at the U.S. Senior Women's Open.

NorthRiver Yacht Club member and AGA board member Susan West was tied with Tara Joy-Connelly (also an AGA board member) and Susan Ingram at 3-over for the tournament. Ellen Port, Martha Leach and first round leader Kathy Glennon were another shot back tied for 5th place.

The host club, Northriver Yacht Club proved to a true test. And the tournament continues to grow stronger. In just four short years, this Championship has grown to the point that it will now serve as one of the qualifying events for the 2024 Concession Cup.
