Zoe Slaughter delivers the championship point on the 21st hole to hand the Aggies their first conference title since 2015

The Southeastern Conference women's golf championships were not for the faint of heart, especially if you were Texas A&M head coach Gerrod Chadwell.

After Blanca Fernández García-Poggio rallied from three down with six holes remaining to defeat South Carolina's Mathilde Claisse on the 23rd hole on Saturday to send Texas A&M into the championship match against Mississippi State, which defeated Vanderbilt and top-seeded LSU to reach the finals, what the Aggies had left in the tank come Sunday morning was anybody's guess.

The answer was plenty.

Wins by Jennie Park and Hailee Cooper accounted for the first two points for the Aggies, which were playing in their first-ever conference title match. Abbey Daniel and SEC individual champion Julia Lopez Ramirez answered for Mississippi State to squad the match, 2-2.

All eyes then turned to the match between Texas A&M's Zoe Slaughter and Surapa Janthamunee of Mississippi State.

Slaughter was 3 up in the match through seven holes, but Janthamunee won holes 8 and 14 to pull to within one and tied the match with a birdie on 17.

The two players then halved the next three holes before Slaughter delivered the championship point with a two-foot par putt on the 21st hole to hand the Aggies their first conference title since 2015.
