Brian Comegys wins at Texas South Amateur

The incoming Abilene Christian freshman posts a five-shot victory at Victoria (Texas) Country Club
David Harrison of San Antonio, finished runner-up shooting a tournament total of 5-under-par 211. Harrison’s second-place finish was powered by a bogey-free final round of 4-under-par 68. Holden Hamilton finished third, joining Comegys and Harrison as one of only three players who shot par or better each round (71-70-72-213).
The South Amateur is in its 19th year on the schedule and is the final regional event in South Texas for the 2022 season. The tournament is a 54-hole stroke play event with players competing in a single, no-cut division.
With the win, Comegys was awarded 1000 points toward South Player of the Year standings.
