San Francisco City Championship
The Men's Senior Championship combines an age-group field with the pressure of a qualifying round and a knockout bracket. For experienced competitors, the appeal is the chance to build a week of good decisions into a title at Harding Park, one of America’s best-known municipal championship venues.
Eligibility is age 55 or older with a Handicap Index no higher than 9.4. The field limit is 84; 18-hole qualifying reduces it to 32 match-play competitors.
All rounds are at Harding Park: qualifying March 16, followed by daily match-play rounds March 17–21. The final is March 21.
Harding hosted the 2020 PGA Championship. Its trees can restrict the next shot even when a drive remains playable, while bunkers and green contours make approach positioning important. Our advice: use a practice round to identify your preferred side of each fairway and safe misses around the greens.
Players who advance need to be available on consecutive days. Plan recovery time, comfortable footwear and a repeatable warm-up—not just a strategy for the qualifying round.
Bob Niger won the 2026 Senior title with a 3 and 2 final victory over Todd Doss, providing the most recent benchmark for this division.
Entry is $395; an active AmateurGolf.com membership is required separately. Review the registration form before paying. Check your email and the official results page for tee times and pairings.
