About the tournament
The Senior Match Play Championship is an invitational-only event. The field is determined by the top 16 finishers (and ties) from the year's Maine Senior Championship. The remainder of the field will be determined by the top point earners from the Player of the Year race, which concludes at the end of July. All entrants must be members of good standing at an MSGA club, have a current MSGA membership, and a valid USGA Handicap. Format is a round of 32 match play bracket.
Tournament Facts
This is an invitational-only event, not an open-entry tournament. The field of 32 is set by the top 16 finishers (and ties) from that year's Maine Senior Championship, with the rest filled by the top point-earners from the Player of the Year race (through end of July); all entrants must be members in good standing of an MSGA-affiliated club, hold current MSGA membership, and have a valid USGA Handicap Index.
