The Porter Cup Invitational is one of amateur golf’s premier 72-hole stroke play events, bringing top men’s and women’s players to Niagara Falls Country Club for a week that blends elite competition with a signature invitational atmosphere. First staged in 1959 as the International Invitational, the Porter Cup has grown into a nationally recognized proving ground for rising amateur talent. Champions receive the tournament’s green blazer, while the men’s winner also earns an invitation to the Master of the Amateurs in Melbourne, Australia.
The Porter Cup is an invitational event where contestants are selected by the Tournament Committee based on competitive record and accomplishments in major amateur and collegiate tournaments. Approximately five qualifying spots are available through an 18-hole stroke-play qualifier open to applicants with a verified USGA handicap of 3.0 or less.
