About the tournament
The Picard Cup is a Major two-
man tournament
that draws a field of accomplished players from all
over the country. 54 holes over two days.
Format:
Round One – Better Ball of Partners
Round Two – Alternate Shot
Round Three – Better Ball of Partners
The tournament will have two divisions: Mid-Amateur (ages 25-54) and Senior (ages 55+).
The tournament pays tribute to Henry Picard, who served as Head Golf Professional at Canterbury for 25 years. A celebrated player in his own right, Picard captured numerous championships, including victories at both the Masters Tournament (1938) and the PGA Championship (1939). His legacy lives on at Canterbury, where his Masters Green Jacket and other memorabilia are proudly displayed in the Picard Lounge..
Canterbury is an older traditional golf course that has hosted several professional major championships, including two U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship as well as two U.S. Amateur championships.
