Common questions
Both are USGA-recognized state golf associations. SCGA covers Southern California, NCGA covers Northern California. Pick the one that matches where you play most often — or get both if you compete in events across the state. Your handicap is portable either way, but your association membership funds the regional events you're likely playing.
Not from us. The Member + California tier is specifically for California players. Members elsewhere typically already have a handicap through a local club or another state association. Tour eligibility and our membership tools don't require a handicap from us. If you'd like AmateurGolf to offer a handicap partnership in your state, let us know.
Yes. Upgrade from Member to Member + California at any time from your account settings. We'll prorate the difference for your current period.
Yes. One payment, no renewals, no rate increases, no expiration. The $100 Two-Man Links credit is single-use and good for one calendar year from purchase. The membership itself doesn't expire — if you stop competing for a decade and come back, your account is still active.
Yes. Annual, 6-month, and 3-year plans all cancel from your account settings and keep access through the end of the paid period. Member + California cancellations also stop the state association renewal at the end of the current term. Lifetime doesn't renew, so there's nothing to cancel.
No. Membership unlocks AmateurGolf's tools, data, articles, and AG Tour event eligibility. Entry fees for the events themselves go to each organizing body and are paid separately at registration.
They stay in your account. If you re-subscribe later they're all there. You just lose access to gated content while your membership is inactive.
Anyone can browse tournament listings, live leaderboards, and the top of the rankings without an account. Most articles and the competitor toolkit are part of Member ($99/yr). There's no free account to sign up for; you join at the plan that fits.
