Zach Felts, a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University, shot rounds of 69-69 to finish at 6-under 138 and win the Coral Canyon Amateur Championship.
Felts was one of the last players into the field after remaining on the waitlist — and made the most of his late entry with two steady rounds in the 60s.
He began the final round two shots behind first-round leader Parker Bunn, a freshman at Brigham Young University and the 2023 5A Utah State Championship winner, who opened with a 67 for a solo lead. Felts closed with another 69, moving past Bunn as the BYU freshman slipped to 74.
From the waitlist to the champion’s trophy, Zach Felts, now a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University, shot rounds of 69-69 to finish at (-6) 138 to win the Coral Canyon Am today. Six players tied for second place at 4-under par.

Four players finished runner-up at 4-under 140: Brock Porter, a freshman at UTRGV, posted 71-69; Rex Wilson, a sophomore at Western Washington, shot 69-71; Tyler Jones, a redshirt sophomore at Western Carolina, carded 71-69; and David Liechty, a freshman at Utah Tech, matched the total with 72-68.
The Coral Canyon Am was Felts’ first start of 2026 after a busy 2025 season in which he played 13 ranked events and posted two top-10 finishes, highlighted by a T4 at the Shepherd’s Rock Individual in September.
