The teams of Kelly Gosse and Mike Murphy plus Pete Williams and Don Whittemore each opened with 9-under 63 to lead the senior division. Meanwhile, the teams of Steve Sponder and Marc Rosenbaum and Brian Sachs and Jim Carley tied for the lead in the Super Senior division at 6-under 66.
In the Super Senior division, the team of Rosenbaum/Sponder began the day on fire with a Rosenbaum birdie on the first hole. Sponder continued the birdie train by making three more on the front nine. The team turned at 4 under. Brain Sachs was looking to win his second Senior Four-Ball Championship after earning a victory in 2002 with teammate John Darr. Sachs and Carley fell to even par on the front nine after posting a par on each hole. Carley scored two birdies over the final nine holes, but a bogey sent the duo to a tie for ninth at 7-under 137. Marc Rosenbaum and Steve Sponder hoisted the trophy after earning a three-stroke win with a 13-under 131 total. Bobby Lundquist and Jerry Young captured second place with consistent rounds of 67 for a 10-under 134 total.
