Vanderbilt, paced by John Augenstein's 13-under performance -- which gave him solo second place individually -- took the title by 5 shots over over Georgia with a three-day total of 39-under 813.
Augenstein recovered from a bogey on No. 3 and finished with three of birdies on his final five holes.
“It was a good week for our team. We’ve been taking good steps,” Fifth-year senior Augenstein said. “These young guys are playing great so it’s great to see their growth.
Vanderbilt started the day at 32-under after a program record 265 on Monday. Their 10-stroke lead over Texas A&M shrunk to eight after three holes and that’s where the margin remained after six holes played.
As the Aggies began to fade and Georgia –- who fired a 13-under 271 on Tuesday paced by Davis Thompson's 67 and T5 individual finish -– began to close the gap, Vanderbilt regained its form on the back nine, led by Augenstein's 33 on the back nine.
The Commodores closed with a 4-under 277 as a team Tuesday, keeping them five in front of Georgia.
Other top Vanderbilt performances came from Matthew Riedel (T5 at 11-under), and William Moll (T11 at 8-under).
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES
Julian Perico of Peru eagled the 18th hole for the second time in three days to win the individual title by a single shot. The Arkansas Razorbacks posted a 21-under par total of 199. His team finished T6.
The eagle was reported by "Pig Trail Nation" to have been made with a "little help from a cart path" which set up a funny exchange on Twitter between that publication and Perico, whose response is below.
Alex Goff of Kentucky continued his sold play this fall, finishing T3 with Brandon Smith of Texas A&M at 19-under 201.This is awesome, thanks for the note! But I just couldnt help to clarify this confusion lol...
