Titleist and Vokey Add Black Vapor Finish to T-Series Irons and SM11 Wedges

All new, limited-edition T-Series Black Vapor Irons and SM11 Wedges coming soon.

Titleist is giving two of its most recognized equipment lines a premium, limited-edition look, with new T-Series Black Vapor irons and SM11 Black Vapor wedges with Flight Lines.

Titleist has introduced new T-Series Black Vapor irons across the T100, T150, T250 and T350 models, while Vokey Design has added SM11 Black Vapor wedges with Flight Lines, a new WedgeWorks customization built to help golfers create more consistent short-game setups.

Both releases are available for pre-sale now and will be in golf shops worldwide beginning Thursday, July 23.

For competitive amateurs and serious players, the story is not just the finish. The T-Series Black Vapor irons bring the same fitting flexibility and model-blending potential found in Titleist’s current iron lineup, while the SM11 Black Vapor wedges add a practical setup aid for players trying to flight the ball more consistently around the green.

T-Series Black Vapor Irons

The limited-edition T-Series Black Vapor irons are available in Titleist’s current T100, T150, T250 and T350 models. Each model features a Titanium Carbide Vapor finish, which is bonded to the clubhead through a vapor-deposition process and designed for durability and smudge resistance.

The look is completed with Golf Pride Tour Velvet Blackout grips and True Temper Onyx shaft offerings in the stock configurations.

Titleist will offer the Black Vapor irons in both right- and left-handed models, and golfers can custom order blended sets across the lineup. That matters for players who want the precision of a more compact iron in the scoring clubs, but need more launch, speed or forgiveness in the longer irons.

That approach has become increasingly common at the highest level. According to Titleist, about 80 percent of its PGA TOUR Brand Ambassadors who play Titleist irons are using blended sets of at least two models.

T-Series Model Breakdown

T100

T100 is Titleist’s modern tour iron. It has a fully forged construction, compact profile, thin topline and minimal offset, making it the option for players who want precision, feel and control.

T150

T150 is the faster player’s iron. It keeps a compact shape, but adds a slightly larger profile than T100 with more speed and launch.

T250

T250 is the player’s distance model. It is built to offer speed, launch and forgiveness in a clean, all-steel construction.

T350

T350 is the most forgiving model in the T-Series lineup. It is designed for golfers looking for maximum distance, speed and launch, while still blending visually with the rest of the family.

Vokey SM11 Black Vapor Wedges with Flight Lines

Vokey Design is also bringing the Black Vapor finish to its SM11 wedges, with the addition of Flight Lines, a new setup tool available through WedgeWorks customization.

Flight Lines are three precision-engraved lines on the hosel. The idea is simple: players can align one of the lines with their nose at address to help set the shaft and clubface in the proper position for a specific shot.

Bump and Run

The back line is designed to help create a lower, more controlled shot that releases toward the hole.

Pitch Shot

The middle line encourages a more neutral shaft position to engage the bounce and create spin.

Flop Shot

The forward line helps players open the face and set up for a higher, softer landing shot.

Black Vapor Finish

The wedges use a Titanium Carbide Vapor finish with gold accents, a Dynamic Gold Onyx wedge shaft and Golf Pride Vokey Z Cord grip.

The concept was developed with Titleist Brand Ambassador and short-game coach Parker McLachlin, who wanted to give golfers a built-in reference point for the way strong wedge players tend to set up to different shots.

“I've worked with some of the best players in the world on their short game. One of the things I've noticed is they all set up to their wedge shots pretty similar. Flight Lines are going to help you understand where the club face and shaft are supposed to be positioned at setup.”

— Parker McLachlin

The wedges also feature the same Titanium Carbide Vapor finish, using a PVD treatment for durability and an FPP coating for smudge resistance. Gold accents appear on the Vokey Design badge, BV Wings logo and bounce number, while a Dynamic Gold Onyx wedge shaft and Golf Pride Vokey Z Cord grip complete the setup.

What Carries Over from SM11

The Black Vapor wedges include the same core technology found in the current SM11 lineup.

SM11 wedges feature precise center-of-gravity positioning, with CG locations matched within each loft regardless of grind. That helps create more consistent flight and feel while removing one variable from the fitting process.

The wedges also use progressive CG placements and groove shapes. Higher-lofted wedges have a CG position that is higher and more heel-ward to help produce a more controlled flight and squarer face. Those higher lofts also feature wider, shallower grooves designed to help channel debris on partial shots and shots around the green.

A directional face texture adds friction and helps keep the ball on the face slightly longer, while the latest Spin Milled grooves feature 5 percent more volume than SM10 grooves to help retain spin from rough or wet conditions.

Why It Matters

The Black Vapor finish gives both releases their immediate appeal, but the more important story is how these clubs fit into the bag.

With the irons, Titleist continues to make blended sets a major part of the T-Series lineup. A strong amateur player might lean toward T100 or T150 in the scoring clubs, add T250 in the mid or long irons, and even use T350 at the top end depending on launch, speed and green-holding ability.

With the wedges, Flight Lines offer a simple visual cue for a part of the game that often gets too feel-based. Instead of guessing how much shaft lean or face position is needed, golfers now have a built-in reference for three common short-game shots: the bump and run, the standard pitch and the flop shot.

Availability: T-Series Black Vapor irons and Vokey SM11 Black Vapor wedges with Flight Lines are available for pre-sale now and arrive in golf shops worldwide on Thursday, July 23.
