Sullivan leads Macdonald at halfway mark of L.A. City Senior

Dan Sullivan has a two-shot lead on Iain Macdonald entering the final round of the L.A. City Senior Amateur

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 9, 2018) – Pasadena resident Dan Sullivan leads the L.A. City Senior after one round at Griffith Park’s Harding Course. Sullivan fired a 4-under 68 to lead by two shots.

Sullivan is a familiar name in Southern California, having found much success on the SCGA circuit. Most recently, he won the 2017 SCGA Mid-Amateur. He won the second of two Pasadena City Amateur titles in 2016.

Sullivan has a slim lead on Iain Macdonald of Fullerton, Calif. Macdonald opened with 37 at Harding but backed it up with 33 for a 2-under 70. Macdonald was T-6 at the SCGA Mid-Amateur earlier this year.

The leaderboard remains crowded after the top two men. Three players are tied for third at 1-under 71, including David Ober of Riverside, Calif., Patrick McOsker of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Tim Lawlor of Los Angeles.

Tim Hogarth, who has won nine L.A. City Amateur titles, is part of a five-way tie for sixth at even-par 72.
