Christopher Derr and Brady Esterbrooks claimed the SCGA Four-Ball Championship in style, winning on the third playoff hole at Industry Hills Country Club after finishing 13-under 131 over 36 holes.
The duo began the final round three shots off the pace after an opening 66 left them in sixth place. They surged back with a composed 65, highlighted by five front-nine birdies that erased the deficit and pushed them into contention.
Kevin Bodlovich and Michael Padilla matched them at 13-under after rounds of 64-67, forcing a playoff. Derr and Esterbrooks birdied the first extra hole and matched pars on the second before Esterbrooks ended the contest with a chip-in eagle on the third playoff hole — sealing their first SCGA title.
The finale brought plenty of drama. Derr and Esterbrooks held a one-shot lead on the 18th in regulation until Bodlovich drained a 25-footer to force extra holes, setting the stage for the playoff.
Corby Segal, who won last year alongside Stephen Hale, teamed up with Torey Edwards this time and finished T-5 at 11-under 133 after rounds of 67 and 66.
