Randolph wins again at the Hochster Memorial

Randolph put together rounds of 72-68 for an even-par total at Quaker Ridge.

Last summer, Trevor Randolph claimed an unprecedented fourth New Jersey Mid-Amateur title. On Monday, he repeated in a different event. Randolph won the Hochster Invitational at Quaker Ridge Golf Club, a one-day, 36-hole event that honors the club’s first president, William Rice Hochster.

Randolph put together rounds of 72-68 for an even-par total that was two shots better than the next-best player. After his opening 72, Randolph had some ground to make up. Thomas LaMorte had opened with 67.

In the afternoon, however, Randolph had three birdies and just one bogey for a 68 while LaMorte fell to 75 and second place.

Matt Fields, who plays out of Quaker Ridge, finished third at 3 over for the day.

James Nicholas, just two days removed from a top-3 finish at the Sunnehanna Amateur, tied for fourth with Matt Minerva. Nicholas went 68-76.

Brad Tilley, an accomplished mid-amateur who reached match play at the U.S. Amateur lat summer, was 10th at 8 over.
