Nathan Wang, Edan Cui leads AGC Silicon Valley Amateur at Stanford Golf Course

Wang, who is a Stanford golfer playing his home course, and Cui will go head-to head as the rest of the field chases the leaders

After 18 holes of the AmateurGolf.com 2025 Silicon Valley Amateur, presented by Callaway Golf, at Stanford University Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif., Nathan Wang of Fremont, Calif., and Edan Cui of Atherton, Calif., are tied for the lead at 4-under.

Wang and Cui each recorded four birdies, two bogeys and an eagle. Wang eagled the par-5 No. 7, while Cui holed out for an eagle on the par-4 No. 7.

"Pretty smooth," Wang said about his round. "This was my first tournament back from our last event in the fall, so it was nice to get some competitive reps in and get the juices flowing."

Cui is familiar with AmateurGolf.com events, as he won the 2023 AGC Pacific Grove and the 2024 Christmas Classic.

"I'm really looking forward to it," Cui said about the final round. "We (Cui and Wang) have played together quite a few times and share the same trainer. I think the last time we played, I beat him, so he will probably be looking for revenge. But it will be a good battle, and I'm looking forward to it."

Ethan Gao of Jones Creek, Ga., is in solo third place at 2-under, and Eli Weidmann of Murphys, Calif., and Ethan Lien of Cupertino, Calif., are T4 at 1-under to round out the top five.

In the Senior Championship Division, Tony Ralph of Sunnyvale, Calif., leads by two shots at 1-over.

Jeff Britton of Carmel, Calif., is in solo second place at 3-over, and Jim Williams of Orinda, Calif., and Thomas Renli of Scottsdale, Ariz., are T3 at 4-over.
