Woodland teams cruises to 7 shot victory; Schorgl team repeats as Junior Division Champs

TOPEKA, KS (August 9, 2005) -- Gary and Dan Woodland of Berryton never looked back after opening up with a first round 10-under par 61. The father-son duo made it back to back 10-under par 61's as they toppled the field with a two-round total of 20-under par 122. The 122 total easily broke the Father-Son Championship record for winning score by 6 shots. The highlight of the event was University of Kansas junior golfer to-be Gary Woodland shooting a course record 61 on his own ball. The previous course record was 63 held by Gary Lucas of Topeka. Trey & Charlie Schorgl of Leawood, KS repeated as junior division champs after successfully defending their 2004 victory at Manhattan Country Club. The Schorgl team put together rounds of 69 & 67 (6-under par total) to win the junior division by one stroke.
