Jack Davidson and Robin Dawson added to GB&I Walker Cup Team

Currently there are 21 players being considered for the 10 player roster which is set to be announced in August

(April 10, 2017) - On Monday the R&A announced two new players had been added to the Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup roster. Currently there are 21 players being considered for the 10 player roster, which is set to be announced in August. Jack Davidson of Wales was added to the roster after winning the European Nations Cup and the Spanish International Amateur Championship in March. Davidson also registered a third place showing at South American Amateur Championships. Ireland's Robin Dawson was the second player added to the roster after his runner-up showings at the European Nations Cup and South African Stroke Play Championship. Dawson, the sixth native of Ireland on the roster, also placed third at the Cape Province Open. Initial GB&I Roster “Jack [Davidson] and Robin [Dawson] have been playing exceptional golf recently and their invitations to join the squad reflect the excellent results they have achieved so far this year," said GB&I captain Craig Watson. “They have played their way into contention for team selection and there is still the opportunity for others to do the same as we move into the domestic season.” Up next for the GB&I squad is a practice session in early May. The Walker Cup is set to be played on June 9-10 at Los Angeles Country Club. -The R&A contributed to this story
