The Doobie Brothers may have made China Grove famous, but don't blame the North Carolina town that hosted this year's Rowan Masters for getting that song stuck in your head. The classic tune was inspired by the Texas community, while this China Grove—just south of Salisbury—has quietly built one of the state's premier local match play traditions.

This year, Cade Cranfield captured the title, defeating Derek Lipe in a final match that saw him down big early. The deficit was so large that he didn't like his chances of holding the trophy at the end of the day.
