Georgia Tech's Schniederjans SGA's Am of Month

Ollie Schniederjans won twice in April and powered the Yellow Jackets to the ACC title

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (May 3, 2014) -- Behind the strength of his terrific play at the ACC Men's Golf Championship, Georgia Tech's Ollie Schniederjans is the Southern Golf Association's Amateur of the Month for April. Schniederjans powered the Yellow Jackets to the conference title, shooting 12-under. He won the individual crown at Old North State Club by five shots. Earlier in the month, he was co-champion at the Ohio State Robert Kepler Invitational and also won the Valspar Collegiate in March. The streak of three victories helped Schniederjans, also a recent Palmer Cup selection, become the first player in school history to win five tournaments in a school year. The national selection panel consists of notable golf journalists, officials and coaches. The coveted March-thru-October award, now in its 12th year, is one of many ways the SGA promotes and advances amateur golf, including its storied Southern Amateur, the 108th playing set for July at the exclusive Honors Course near Chattanooga.
