Frazier wins SNGA Amateur by five shots

Zac Frazier was the only player to log back-to-back rounds under par at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort.

With back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70 at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, Zac Frazier won the Southern Nevada Golf Association Amateur on Sunday with five shots to spare. Frazier, who plays out of TPC Summerlin, was the only player to log two rounds under par. He put together two colorful cards to do it.

Frazier, who was 11th at the Carlton Woods Invitational earlier this year and played the Stocker Cup last fall, was 2 over after his opening nine before making up for it with four birdies on the back. In Sunday’s final round, he had four bogeys, four birdies and an eagle at the par-4 10th.

Kamden Ganir was second at 1-over 145 and Grant McKay was 3 over in third.

Cameron Barzekoff was the only other player to shoot a round under par at Paiute Resort. His opening 71 left him one shot behind Frazier, but when Barzekoff followed with 78, he dropped to fourth.

In the senior division, Darrell Lutey had rounds of 70-71 for a 3-under total that left him six shots ahead of John Turk in second.
