Farah O’Keefe stars as Texas defends Betsy Rawls title

Longhorns dominate at home as Farah O’Keefe claims third win of the season and leads Texas to second straight team title

The No. 7 Texas women’s golf team captured the Betsy Rawls Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club, finishing at 14-over 878 (304-289-285) to successfully defend its title.

The victory marked Texas’ second straight team win of the season, following its triumph at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate two weeks ago, and continued its dominance at the event, with the Longhorns now winning five of the last six editions.

No. 9 Arkansas finished runner-up at 35-over, 21 shots back.

In the individual competition, Texas junior Farah O’Keefe claimed her third title of the season, finishing at 1-under 215 (75-70-70). She was the only player in the field to finish under par, pulling clear with back-to-back rounds of 70. O’Keefe’s previous two wins this season came at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge and the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.

Senior Cindy Hsu completed a Texas one-two finish, placing runner-up at 1-over 217 (76-72-69).

Texas placed four players inside the top 15, highlighting the depth behind its team victory. Junior Lauren Kim, last year’s individual champion, finished T-7 at 7-over 223 (75-74-74), while senior Angela Heo placed 13th at 9-over 225 (78-73-74).

Statistically, Texas controlled the tournament, leading the field in par-3 (3.20), par-4 (4.17) and par-5 scoring (4.92). The Longhorns also recorded 40 birdies, 11 more than LSU, the next closest team.
