Overview

Across four Spanish venues, a mix of veterans, past winners, and fresh faces are chasing a single goal — a spot on the 2026 DP World Tour.

After 166 players advanced from First Stage events held across Europe from August through October, the competition tightens as those with Tour experience — including Eddie Pepperell, Shubhankar Sharma, and Lucas Bjerregaard — re-enter the mix for one last shot at regaining full playing privileges.

This year’s Second Stage marks a return to familiar host courses, each demanding precision, patience, and poise. From the desert winds of Almería to the mountain air of Girona, the diversity of conditions mirrors the global nature of the DP World Tour itself.

Second Stage Venues

  • Desert Springs Resort (Almería): A parched and precise test in southern Spain, featuring India’s Shubhankar Sharma, Spaniards Alfredo Garcia-Heredia and Joel Moscatel, and Austria’s Matthias Schwab.
  • Isla Canela Links (Huelva): South African duo Justin Harding and Lucas Bjerregaard headline, joined by Marc Warren, Justin Walters, and Jean Bekirian — Armenia’s first DP World Tour cut-maker.
  • Golf Las Pinaillas (Albacete): Hosts new hopefuls Pierre Pineau, Danny List, and veterans like Gregory Bourdy, alongside rising Englishmen Barclay Brown and Kris Kim.
  • Fontanals Golf Club (Girona): A marquee field featuring Eddie Pepperell and George Coetzee, boasting seven combined DP World Tour titles.

Key Storylines

  • Redemption Run: Several players are competing after narrowly losing their Tour cards in 2025, hoping to rebound immediately.
  • HotelPlanner Tour Graduates: Emerging talents from the developmental circuit aim to take the next leap into global play.
  • Legends in the Mix: Multiple former Tour champions, including Pepperell and Bjerregaard, headline a field that blends past glory with future promise.
  • The Numbers Game: With roughly two dozen spots available at each site, the margins are razor-thin — every birdie matters.

The Path Ahead

The Final Stage at Infinitum Golf will test the survivors with six grueling rounds, and a cut made after 72 holes. Only the top performers will walk away with full or partial DP World Tour membership for 2026 — and a shot at teeing it up in next season’s Rolex Series.
