Dianna Lee is starting to make winning feel like part of Northwestern’s rhythm.
The senior delivered again at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational, closing with a bogey-free 4-under 68 to win the individual title by three shots and lead the Wildcats to the team trophy as well. Northwestern finished at 884 (294-306-284), four clear of Oklahoma, after saving its best round for last with a closing 4-under 284.
Lee’s week was a lesson in patience. She opened with matching 72s, then flipped the tournament on the final day with the only round in the field without a bogey. At 4-under overall, she was also the only player to finish even-par or better across all three rounds. It marked her second win of the season and the third of her career.
The run has been building since fall. Northwestern shared the Windy City Collegiate title in September with Duke, with Lee finishing T-6, and a month later she won the East Lake Cup individual crown before being named Big Ten Golfer of the Week. In 2025, she played 14 ranked events, highlighted by a win at the PING/ASU Invitational, and she opened 2026 with a T-5 at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic two weeks ago.
Northwestern’s depth backed her up. Senior Megan Meng finished 17th at 7-over, sophomore Hsin Tai Lin shared 19th at 8-over, and junior Ashley Yun capped her week with a 2-under 70 to tie for 23rd at 9-over — giving the Wildcats four players inside the top 25.
Northwestern didn’t just win a tournament this week — it looked like a team with a leader peaking at exactly the right time.
