David White battles wind to lead Canadian Men’s Senior Championship

Local player David White handled the gusty conditions better than anyone else in the opening round of the 2026 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship, shooting a 3-under 69 to take the lead at Niakwa Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

White, 59, was one of only two players to break par Tuesday. Starting on the back nine, he made four birdies to turn at 4-under before losing three shots with a bogey at No. 2 and a double bogey at the third.
