Coleman Senior Inv: Seminole's Norton wins it

Seminole member Bryan Norton outlasted a national field to win the 2014 Coleman Senior

JUNO BEACH, Fla. (April 26, 2014) -- Local knowledge is a huge advantage in the game of golf and Seminole Golf Club member Bryan Norton proved that much is true with an impressive victory over a national field in the Senior Division of the George L. Coleman Invitational.

North shot rounds of 69-74-72 to win by a shot over Buzz Fly, Chip Lutz and Tim Jackson.

Jackson held the overnight lead thanks to a second-round 69 but couldn't keep pace with Norton on Saturday.

Recent U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Randy Lewis took fifth, finishing two shots ahead of Buddy Marucci. Brady Exber was seventh while Doug LaCrosse and Chris Lange tied for eighth place.

Many of the players in the Coleman field are now heading to Bradenton, Fla. for the inaugural Concession Cup. Featuring teams from the U.S. and Great Britain & Ireland, the team matches will go to honor the famous concession by Jack Nicklaus to Tony Jacklin at the 1969 Ryder Cup.

The George L. Coleman Invitational is one of the year's top events. Played at the Donald Ross- designed Seminole Golf Club, the Coleman features a loaded field featuring many of the world's top mid-amateurs and seniors.
