ANNIKA Award Watch List: Vu, Fassi in a Tight Race

Lilia Vu of UCLA (4 wins) and Maria Fassi of Arkansas (5 wins) lead the race for the award honoring the best female college golfer

COLUMBUS, GA (March 22, 2018) - Lilia Vu tops the ANNIKA Award Watch list, released today, March 22. The ANNIKA Award is given each year to the nation's best female college golfer, and is voted on by players, coaches, golf-specific sports information directors and media.

Leona Maguire of Duke, currently #1 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's World Ranking, was last year's ANNIKA Award winner and also win the award in 2015.

Vu, a junior from UCLA, has won four tournaments this season, including all three she has played in the spring, and has risen to #2 in the GW/AGC World Ranking, behind only Maguire.

Maria Fassi, a junior at Arkansas, has risen to #2 on the ANNIKA Watch List, on the strength of five wins this season, including all three of her spring starts.

Andrea Lee, a sophomore at Stanford, sits at #3 on the Watch List. Lee won three times in the fall for the Cardinal

Voting for the ANNIKA Award will open at the conclusion of the NCAA Regionals and will end at the conclusion of the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, OK.
