SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Sunshine greeted the field on Sunday at Coronado Golf Course, providing the perfect backdrop for the final round of the AmateurGolf.com Two Man Links & Father/Son Championship at Torrey Pines. After opening rounds at Torrey Pines North on Day 1 and the championship-tested Torrey Pines South Course on Day 2, teams closed out the tournament in ideal conditions, delivering low scores and decisive finishes across all five divisions.
From wire-to-wire performances to late Sunday surges, the championship showcased the depth of AmateurGolf.com’s team competitions, blending elite shot-making with strategic teamwork on one of Southern California’s most iconic coastal stretches.
Open Division: Syta and Ramos Finish Strong
In the Open Division, Dale Syta and Mark Ramos capped off a consistent three-day performance to claim the title at 1-under-par (215). The Colorado duo followed rounds of 73 and 72 at Torrey Pines with a closing 2-under 70 at Coronado to secure a two-shot victory.
Finishing runner-up at 5-over-par (221) were Jeff Lane and Robert Stone, who stayed steady throughout the week but were unable to match the leaders’ closing momentum. Mike Graham and Patrick McIntyre rounded out the podium in third at 10-over-par (226).
Ramos and Syta Take Three Titles Net Open Division: Syta and Ramos Double Up
Syta and Ramos continued their dominance in the Net Open Division, pulling away from the field with a winning total of 6-under-par net (210). Their standout round came Sunday, where a net 66 sealed the victory and completed a clean sweep of both Open titles.
Close behind were Mike Graham and Patrick McIntyre at 5-under-par net (211). Tied for third at 2-under-par net (214) were Barry Castle and Russell Johnson alongside Andrew Bowden and Shawn Lostracco, each closing strong on the final day.
Father/Son Division: Canada Duo Goes Low
The Father/Son Division saw one of the lowest team totals of the championship, as Aiden and Darren Canada fired rounds of 69 at Torrey Pines North, 68 at Torrey Pines South, and 67 at Coronado to finish at an impressive 12-under-par (204). Their steady improvement each day culminated in Sunday’s low round and a comfortable victory.
David Ortego and David Ortego Sr. finished second at 7-under-par (209), while Donald and Zachary Miller claimed third at 3-under-par (213) after a solid closing effort.
Aiden and Darren Canada Share their First Title Together Net Father/Son Division: Wilsons Hold Off Late Charge
In the Net Father/Son Division, Lee and Steve Wilson maintained control throughout the championship, finishing at 10-under-par net (206) to earn the title. Their consistency across all three rounds proved decisive.
A tie for second at 7-under-par net (209) featured Brad and Robby Evans, highlighted by a brilliant net 65 in the final round, and the Canada duo, who added another podium finish to an already impressive week.
Lee and Steve Wilson, Net Division Winners Senior Division: Familiar Names Rise Again
The Senior Division mirrored the Open leaderboard, with Mark Ramos and Dale Syta once again finishing on top at 1-under-par (215). Their experience and steady play paid dividends, particularly during Sunday’s pressure moments.
Jeff Lane and Robert Stone followed closely at 5-over-par (221), while Jeremy Smith and Michael Smith completed the top three at 7-over-par (223).
