USA edges Spain and Korea on a tiebreaker to win the 2025 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship
The United States prevailed on a dramatic tiebreaker to win the 31st Women’s World Amateur Team Championship. After USA, Spain, and the Republic of Korea tied at 18-under 558, the decision came down to non-counting scores—Megha Ganne’s even-par 72 from Round 3 edging Spain (73) and Korea (74).
Catherine Park holed an 8-foot birdie on 18 for a closing 71, Farah O’Keefe matched with a 71, and Ganne delivered a bogey-free finale as the Americans erased a three-shot deficit to the defending champions from Korea. Spain’s Paula Martín Sampedro briefly pushed her side to 19-under before a bogey at 17 pulled them back; Korea’s Soomin Oh nearly chipped in at 18 but missed by inches.
“We are beyond happy. We don’t get to do this often—to play for country—so we were just excited to be here.” — Megha Ganne
“Every single player was in it every single day… if it ever comes to a tiebreaker, we are going to that score.” — Kendra Graham, USA Captain
“I’m over the moon. I’m so happy for the girls. They all contributed big time.” — Chris Zambri, USA Coach
“The pressure of making that 8-footer and then knowing we won was unbelievable.” — Catherine Park
Tanah Merah Country Club, Singapore Singapore’s Tanah Merah CC presented a strategic test: broad fairways framed by mature trees, sculpted bunkering, and firm multi-tiered greens that rewarded precise approach play. Warm, humid conditions with light breezes kept hydration and late-round focus paramount.
With the women’s title secured, the U.S. can complete a rare sweep by winning both team championships in the same year—last done in 1994.
