Last year, Rianne Malixi completed the double victory, winning the U.S. Women's Amateur and the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur
The U.S. Women's Amateur local qualifying will take place at 24 sites across the United States from June 18 to July 17, 2025, and the 125th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort (Bandon Dunes), Bandon, Ore., from August 4 to 10, 2025.
Following the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur, the USGA will conduct 11 more amateur competitions at Bandon Dunes over the next twenty years, starting with the 2028 Walker Cup Match.
Last year, Rianne Malixi, 17, of the Philippines, became just the second player in USGA history to win the U.S. Women's Amateur and U.S. Girls' Junior titles in the same season with a 3-and-2 victory over 15-year-old Asterisk Talley, of Chowchilla, Calif., at Southern Hills Country Club, in Tulsa, Okla.
Astonishingly, it was a rematch of their U.S. Girls' Junior final in July when Malixi posted an 8-and-7 victory. Malixi joined Eun Jeong Seong as the only players to win both of these titles in a calendar year, and she became the fourth female to claim multiple USGA titles in the same year.
"Honestly, I just wanted to play good golf," Malixi told the USGA after her win. "That's it. I wasn't expecting to win the Australian Master of Amateurs in January, then win the U.S. Girls’ last month, and then this one. I was so surprised. Even though I was playing good golf, I was just not expecting it.”
