Mirabel Ting earned medalist honors while Lottie Woad finished in solo second place to pace the Seminoles
The Florida State Seminoles successfully defended their 2024 title at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. They finished 10-under as a team and six shots clear of the field and become the first two-time winners of the event.
After the first day of play, Florida State led the team competition by four shots at 5-under. The first day consisted of 27 holes, with Florida State shooting 4-under 284 in the first round and 1-under 143 on the final nine holes.
On day two, Florida State finished the second round 6-under and shot an even-par 288 to stay at 10-under and win comfortably.
"Playing 27 holes in a day is tough," said head coach Amy Bond to FSU Athletics. "We finished the second round well but did not do a great job at the start of the third round. To each girl's absolute credit, they found a way to dig deep and finished the back nine in the third round and six under par with only one bogey."
TCU finished in solo second place at 4-under and six shots back of the Seminoles and was the only other team to shoot under par. Virginia finished in solo third place at 3-over, Houston finished in solo fourth place at 10-over, and NC State and SMU finished T5 at 29-over to round out the top five.
