2026 Haskins Award Watch List Announced

Haskins Award Watch list is out: 20 contenders, key dates, and what’s next in the race for college golf’s top men’s honor.

The 2026 Haskins Award Spring Watch List is out: 20 contenders, key dates, and what’s next in the race for college golf’s top men’s honor.

The race for one of the most prestigious honors in men’s Division I college golf is beginning to take shape, with 20 standout players named to the 2026 Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel Spring Watch List.

This spring’s release is the first of three watch lists that will be announced during the season. The Spring Watch List includes 20 players and was released on March 9. A Postseason Watch List featuring 15 players will follow after conference championships, and the Final Watch List featuring 10 players will be announced on May 22.

Each watch list is unique, and a player does not need to appear on a previous watch list to be considered for any future watch list.

Key dates for the 2026 Haskins Award

  • March 9, 2026: Spring Watch List announced (20 players)
  • Post-Conference Championships: Postseason Watch List announced (15 players)
  • May 22, 2026: Final Watch List announced (10 players); ten finalists announced and voting opens
  • May 27, 2026: 3rd Annual Haskins Honors presentation at The Grand Blanc, adjacent to the 1st green at Omni La Costa
  • June 1, 2026: Voting concludes at the end of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championships

How voting works

The ten finalists for the 2026 Haskins Award will be announced on May 22, and voting will open that same day.

As a reminder, all Division I players, coaches, and golf sports information directors are eligible to vote for the Haskins Award. Voting for the 2026 award will conclude on Monday, June 1, at the end of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championships.

Haskins Honors returns to Omni La Costa

The accomplishments of the ten finalists will be celebrated at the 3rd Annual Haskins Honors presentation at The Grand Blanc, adjacent to the 1st green at Omni La Costa, on Wednesday, May 27. The evening will honor the ten finalists, their coach, and their parents.

This special evening will be hosted by the Haskins Foundation, the Back of the Range, College World Golf Championships Foundation, and three-time Haskins Award winner Ben Crenshaw.

What’s next

With conference championships and NCAA postseason play still ahead, the Spring Watch List is a snapshot rather than a final verdict. The Postseason Watch List will narrow the field to 15 players after conference championships, and the Final Watch List will trim that number to 10 on May 22 before voting begins.

Because each watch list stands on its own, strong late-season play can still reshape the race and bring new names into the conversation as the postseason unfolds.
