FAIR OAKS, TX (May 7, 2017) - Playing as the 16-seed Mark Macejewski has won the San Antonio Mid-Amateur Match Play title.

In the final at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club Macejewski was able to outlast No. 11 Bill Odom 2&1 to win the title.

Macejewski advanced to the title match with a 2&1 semifinal win over No. 12 Brian Marchiori while along the way in the Round of 16 defeating top-seed Michael Freeman.

Odom arrived at the championship match with a 1 up win in the semifinals over two-seed Seth Johnson.


In the Senior Division four-seed Craig Hall was the last man standing by way of his 3&2 championship win against No. 15 John Stark.

Hall defeated nine-seed John Pierce 3&2 in the semifinals while Stark handled No. 6 Richard Hageman 3&2.

ABOUT THE San Antonio Senior Match Play

18 hole stroke play qualifier to determine a match play bracket for seniors. Open to any male with amateur status, and 50 or older, as of the first day of the tournament residing in Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Kerr, Wilson, Atascosa, Medina, Guadalupe, or Bandera counties for a minimum of three months prior to the Championship date. Active Duty Military residents are exempt from the three month residency requirement.
