With industry attention focusing on the sole of metalwoods lately, Mizuno introduces an accordion-like shape called Shock Wave to the sole of the club. This unique design allows the entire head to contract and expand upon impact. This results in the creation of more energy from swing to the ball increasing overall distance. The center of gravity is kept low and a weight pad in the rear expands the head's stability on high and low mis-hits.
The club's metal face is comprised of low- carbon ultra-high-strength steels. The combination is designed to maximize ball speed and add distance.

Each club also has Mizuno's Quick Switch shaft adjustability allowing players the option to adjust the head loft three different ways.
The JPX-850 fairway woods are priced at $250 with available 15-, 18- and 21-degree lofts. Custom Shafts are available as well as a variety of custom grips.
