About the tournament
The Essex County Amateur is a prestigious annual tournament held alongside the Esplen Trophy and Jubilee Trophy. Open to male amateur players with a handicap index of 4.0 or below, including those qualifying under County Regulations or selected for County/Boys Teams.
Format 72-hole stroke play competition
Day 1: Full field plays 36 holes; top 42 players and ties qualify
Day 2: Qualified players complete final 36 holes
