Invitational tournament contested in honor of Bob Hope, the comedian and entertainer who was a member of Lakeside Golf Club and lived near the club.
A 54 hole, stroke play, two-man tournament where both players must represent the same club. Low net score will determine the winner. Format is as follows: Day 1 - Better Ball of partners, gross, less one-half combined full handicap, Day 2 - Modified scramble, gross, less 75% of one-half combined full handicap, Day 3 - Aggregate both balls in play, total combined gross, less total combined full handicaps.
No entrant shall have a handicap index exceeding 14.2 as of September. Your lowest handicap index of the previous twelve months will prevail and there can be no more than a 6 stroke handicap differential between partners.
Host course Lakeside Golf Club is one of Southern California's finest with a long history of competitive golf. Celebrity contestants have included Bing Crosby (who was a club champ) and more recently Justin Timberlake.
