Alabama State Parent-Child Championship

Championship is conducted at 18 holes of modified alternate shot stroke play. Each side plays alternate shot except that both team members hit from their designated tee and then select the ball to be played.

Teams select the division in which to compete if eligible:

Amateur Division: Team comprised of two amateurs. Champion is the team posting the lowest 18-hole gross score. Flights are determined based on number of entries using 50% team Handicap Index. Yardage is dependent on gender and age.

Open Division: Team comprised of one golf professional and one amateur (or an amateur awaiting reinstatement “A/R”). Yardage is dependent on gender, age, and amateur/professional status.

Entries are open to any side comprised of a parent and child, regardless of age, in any gender combination. Step-parents, grandparents, and in-laws are eligible. At least one member of each side must be a legal resident of Alabama and a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) and have an active GHIN USGA Handicap Index ® at an AGA member club or is a golf professional employed at an AGA member club. A side is eligible if one partner is an amateur member of an AGA member club or if one partner is a golf professional employed by an AGA member club. Pro-Pro sides are not eligible.
