The Municipal Amateur Championship was founded
in
1981 by Jim Fyke. Modeled after the City Open, it
was
his vision to create an amateur golf championship
that
was truly open to all competitors in Nashville and
the
surrounding areas. 54 hole stroke play
championship.
Applications are open to male residents of the
Nashville Metropolitan Statistical Area who meet the
USGA definition of an amateur golfer. Persons
applying for reinstatement to amateur status are not
eligible. All competitors must be at least 18 years of
age.
The Metropolitan Statistical Area includes:Nashville-
Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin (Cannon, Cheatham,
Davidson, Dickson, Hickman, Macon, Maury,
Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale,
Williamson, Wilson)
