About the tournament

The Greater Knoxville Amateur is a 36-hole stroke play championship that brings together top amateur golfers from across the region. The tournament features a Championship Division for players with a maximum handicap of 5.0 and an Open Division for players with handicaps between 3.0 and 12.0, while additional divisions do not have handicap requirements. Participation is limited to players who reside in, or are members of clubs located in, select East Tennessee counties.

The event is part of the Knoxville Amateur Tour, where competitors earn points throughout the season in pursuit of qualification for the Knoxville Cup, a Ryder Cup-style competition that matches the region’s leading amateurs against local PGA professionals.
