Forest Akers East, redesigned by Arthur Hills in 1997, plays as a par-72 layout ideally suited for junior competition, demanding strategic placement off the tee and precision iron play into well-protected greens.

GAM Junior Stroke Play
Members get complete historical leaderboards for every year of Golf Association of Michigan Junior Stroke Play Championship on record — scores, positions, and hometowns going back decades.
The GAM Junior Stroke Play Championship brings Michigan’s best 15-and-under junior golfers together for 36 holes of competitive stroke play. With boys’ and girls’ divisions, the event provides young players with meaningful championship experience early in their golf development. The championship has also served as a proven training ground for future standouts, with past champions including James Piot of Canton, who later became a U.S. Amateur champion.
Entries are open to all amateur golfers who have not yet reached their 16th birthday by July 17, 2026, have a Handicap Index of 25.4 or less, and are residents of Michigan or are members of a GAM Member Club at the time of entry.
