About the tournament

Since 2007, the Honors Matches showcase the best amateurs of Southern California that represent the SCGA and take on the SCPGA professionals in the 16-person teams. Team SCPGA is selected based on current season Section Player of the Year points. Of the 16 person team, 4 are men 50 & under, 4 are men 50 & over, 4 are women 50 & under and 4 are women 50 & over. All are chosen from the Section PoY standings. The Matches are held on the even years.
