The Memorial Women's Amateur Championship is the elite women's division of the long-running Memorial Amateur Championship, debuting in 2026 at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in Carmichael, California. Founded by Vietnam veteran John Rochelle to mark the 29th edition of his Memorial Day Weekend event, the women's championship was created to provide a top-level competitive platform for the world's leading female amateurs alongside the men's tournament Rochelle has staged annually since 1998. The 54-hole stroke-play championship is contested over Memorial Day Weekend at Ancil Hoffman — a William Bell design that opened in 1965 along the American River in suburban Sacramento. The women's division plays the course at par 73 from 6,012 yards, set up from a dedicated set of tees that preserves the strategic, shotmaking character that has defined the men's event for nearly three decades. The field draws elite female amateurs from across the United States and abroad, slotting into the calendar as a competitive proving ground ahead of the heart of the summer's national qualifying schedule.
