Horizon League Championship

The Horizon League, marking its 46th year in 2024-25, unites 11 distinguished public and private institutions recognized for their academic excellence and vibrant athletic traditions. Its members include Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Robert Morris, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Wright State, and Youngstown State. The league sponsors competition in 19 sports—nine for men (such as basketball, soccer, and baseball) and 10 for women (including basketball, soccer, and volleyball)—promoting well-rounded athletic achievement. Each year, the prestigious James J. McCafferty Trophy, named after the league's inaugural commissioner, is awarded to honor the all-sport champion.
