About the tournament

The NCPGA, Sacramento Golf Council and the Haggin Oaks Team are excited to host the NCPGA Legends Championship at the classic Alister Mackenzie GC @ Haggin Oaks on Wednesday & Thursday, May 10-11, 2023.

The inaugural NCPGA Legends event was held in 2022 for professionals only with great success and they are expanding the field to amateur golfers in 2023. The tournament is open to men and women amateurs ages 70 and above with the following flights and yardages:

Flights: Yardage
Men: 5,700-5,800
Women playing with Men: 4,950
Women: 4,700

The competition will be stroke-play over 36 holes at scratch (18 holes each day). Tee times will begin at 1:00pm on Wednesday and 10:00am on Thursday. The first day will be Professionals paired with Professionals, and Amateurs with Amateurs. The second round, however, will be paired by score.

The entry fee is $140 if you register by April 28th or $160 if you register after April 28th and before the May 5th deadline. A highlight of the event is the Reunion lunch held prior to the beginning of the first round on Wednesday, May 10th. The entry fee includes the Reunion lunch, golf fees, cart, warm-up range balls, prize fund and light snacks after each round. The amateur players with the lowest gross total score in each flight will be declared the champion of their respective flight. If a tie occurs for any of the flights, a sudden victory playoff will commence immediately following play from the 1st tee. During online registration, players must select which flight they choose to compete in, as the tees will be different for each flight. Gift Cards will be awarded to the top finishers.

The Championship will be conducted using the Golf Genius Software, including communication, pairings and scoring. All play will be in groups of three to ensure a proper pace of play.

The entry deadline is May 5, 2023. There will be no refunds after this date. Withdrawals prior to the entry deadline will be assessed a $10 cancellation fee.
