Veteran and teen phenom take International Four-Ball

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (Jan. 26, 2011) --The 65th annual Women’s International Four Ball Championship concluded today at Orangebrook Golf & Country Club in Hollywood, Florida. The championship match up was between past champions Mary Hanyak and Marianne Springer against Taffy Brower and her 14 year old phenom partner, Alexa Hammer. The match play championship round was much closer than the 3 and 2 score might indicate. Taffy Brower and Alexa Hammer ended the match on the 16th green with incredible shot making. Taffy and Alexa started strong winning the first three holes, but veteran partners Mary Hanyak and Marianne Springer kept battling back but could never capture the lead. Alexa Hammer, the 14 year old with the silky putting stroke and great wedge play, proved to be a great asset to her seasoned partner, Taffy Brower.
